4 Keys to Creating Culturally Responsive Classroom Systems (CRCS)

 Overview

Culture is central to learning. It plays a role not only in communicating and receiving information, but also in shaping the thinking process of groups and individuals.  Educators that employ an instructional approach that acknowledges, responds to, and celebrates the various cultures of their students as an asset and not a complication, have essentially created an environment of equitable access to mastery.

In this module the learner will:

  1. Summarize the 4 keys of Creating a Culturally Responsive Classroom.
  2. Evaluate their own level of cultural responsiveness.
  3. Generate an accommodation plan that can be used in any course they teach.
  4. Explain how they will create a community of learners in their classroom.
